Our Story
That's our mission. Celt Tools started in a small wood shop, where we cut dense exotic hardwood that dulled our bandsaw blades quickly. We tried several ways, but all had their flaws, so we built a simple way to sharpen your blades quickly and percisly.
Where it began
I'm Ben. For the last seven years I've sold exotic wood, which means cutting a lot of very dense hardwood on the bandsaw.
That wood is hard on blades. I'd get 30 to 40 cuts before a blade went dull. Then I'd throw it away and put on a new one.
Sometimes it didn't even take that long. A hidden nail or dirt buried in a slab could dull a brand-new blade two or three cuts in.
“I was spending over $1,000 a year on blades that still had plenty of life in them.”
That set me on a mission to find a simple way to sharpen bandsaw blades. It turned into 5+ prototypes, a lot of 3D-printed parts, and eventually the Halo: a sharpener that mounts right on your saw and does the repetitive work for you.

Why “Celt”
A celt is one of the oldest woodworking tools there is: a stone or bronze axe head used to shape timber thousands of years ago, including across Scotland and Ireland. My family roots run through both, so the name fit.
The celt shaped wood the same way a bandsaw does today. And woodworking shapes the person doing it. Every project makes you a little more patient, a little more skilled, a little more than you were. That's what Celt Tools is about.
